What does BTTS (both teams to score) mean?

BTTS is a yes/no market: it settles "Yes" when both teams score at least one goal, and "No" if either team is kept off the scoresheet — the result itself does not matter. The table shows how common scorelines settle:

Result BTTS settles
1–1 Yes
2–1 Yes
3–2 Yes
1–0 No
0–0 No
2–0 No

BTTS is popular because it ignores who wins and focuses purely on whether the game is open at both ends.

What does Over/Under 2.5 goals mean, and why 2.5?

Over/Under 2.5 is a market on the total goals scored by both teams combined: "Over" needs 3 or more, "Under" means 2 or fewer — and the .5 line exists so there can never be a tie. The table shows how totals settle:

Total goals Over/Under 2.5 settles
0, 1, or 2 Under
3 or more Over

The line is set at 2.5 rather than a whole number on purpose: because a match cannot end on 2.5 goals, there is no possibility of a "push" (a tie that returns the stake). 2.5 is the most common line because the average top-league match tends to hover near it.

How do AI scoreline predictions relate to these markets?

Because ScoreGPT's models output a predicted scoreline for each match, that scoreline maps directly onto goals markets — the table shows the mapping.

Predicted scoreline BTTS Over/Under 2.5
2–1 Yes Over 2.5
1–1 Yes Under 2.5
1–0 No Under 2.5
3–2 Yes Over 2.5
0–0 No Under 2.5

The consensus scoreline gives a single read across the five models. That said, a predicted scoreline is an estimate, not a settled outcome. These are betting-market terms, and reading a prediction against them is information only — not a recommendation to place any wager. 18+.

Frequently asked

Does BTTS count own goals?

In most bookmakers' rules, an own goal counts towards the team credited with it, so it can settle BTTS — but rules vary by operator. Always check the specific market rules. This page is informational only. 18+.

What happens to Over/Under 2.5 if the game ends 2-2?

A 2–2 result is four goals total, which is 3 or more, so it settles as Over 2.5. Only totals of 0, 1, or 2 settle as Under 2.5.

Why is the line 2.5 and not 3?

The half-goal line removes the chance of a tie. A match cannot finish on 2.5 goals, so every whole-goal total lands clearly Over or Under, with no stake-returning "push."

Can ScoreGPT predict BTTS or Over/Under?

ScoreGPT predicts a scoreline, which maps onto these markets (e.g. a predicted 2–1 implies BTTS Yes and Over 2.5). It is an estimate, not advice. Information and entertainment only, not betting advice. 18+.
